Overview
A face-mounted frame must sit level and square on a sound fixing surface. Centre the complete assembly over the measured coverage area before fixing it. Keep the panels supported and recheck the gaps as you tighten each section.
Preparation
Check the finished frame against the intended face-mount position. Confirm the wall or trim is sound and that the frame can sit flat with secure fixings and sufficient panel clearance.
1. Assemble the frame
Lay the frame components on a protected, level surface. Join the corners in the order specified for the supplied system, keeping the joints fully seated without forcing them.
2. Centre and level the frame
Position the assembled frame over the opening with the intended coverage on both sides. Check the top with a level and mark its position before starting the fixings.
3. Fix the top and establish square
Use initial fixings to support the top while you check the diagonals and side alignment. Leave enough adjustment to square the frame before fully tightening the remaining positions.
4. Fix the sides and bottom
Work around the sides and lower section progressively. Pack low spots behind fixing points so tightening against the wall or trim does not distort the frame.
5. Hang the panels
Install the panels in their labelled positions and test them one at a time. Check the meeting gaps and make sure each panel opens clear of nearby walls and hardware.
6. Fine-tune
Correct small alignment differences using the permitted packing or hinge adjustments. Retest after each change and keep the frame square rather than compensating for distortion with excessive hinge adjustment.
7. Finish
Complete the covers and caps, remove packaging and clean away dust. Test the panel swing, louvre movement and window operation before considering the installation finished.
