Overview
Match the delivered parts to the window, assemble the frame and establish level and square before tightening the fixings. Work through the sequence below with the supplied hardware instructions; support large panels while hanging them.
Preparation and tools
Match the delivered parts to the window labels and read the supplied fitting instructions. Have a level, tape, suitable drill and fixings ready. Clear enough floor space to assemble the frame without marking its finish.
1. Assemble the frame
Lay the frame components on a protected, level surface. Join the corners in the order specified for the supplied system, keeping the joints fully seated without forcing them.
2. Position the frame
Place the assembled frame in the opening and check level, plumb and the diagonals. Use suitable packers at fixing points so an uneven recess does not pull the frame out of shape.
3. Fix the frame
Start with enough fixings to hold the frame securely while alignment is checked. Work around it gradually and avoid fully tightening one side against an uneven surface before the other sides are positioned.
4. Hang the panels
Match each labelled panel to its hinge position and install it using the supplied hardware. Open and close it gently to check the gaps and access to the underlying window.
5. Fine-tune alignment
Adjust packing and the permitted hinge settings in small increments. Aim for even gaps and free movement; do not use force to make a misaligned panel close.
6. Finish the installation
Fit the finishing caps or cover strips after alignment is correct. Remove drilling dust and test every panel, blade and window handle before putting furniture back.
