Your questions

Before you choose plantation shutters.

Can I fit shutters inside my recess?

Check usable depth, handles, sill and the shape of the opening. A suitable frame must allow both louvre rotation and panel movement.

Are plantation shutters completely blackout?

Closed louvres help control light and privacy, but small gaps are needed around moving parts. They do not form a completely sealed blackout surface.

How should I choose panel divisions?

Start with the existing window divisions and how the panels can open. Wide openings, mullions and nearby walls can affect the layout.

What if my window is out of square?

Record the full set of widths, heights and diagonal checks, and photograph the opening. Ask for help before ordering instead of averaging the measurements or assuming a deduction.

Supported DIY journey

Measure first. Install with the right guide.

Shutter measurements and deductions are product specific. Use the hub to prepare the opening, but do not order from a generic window measurement alone.

Plan the opening carefully

Start with the product range, then use its exact measuring method.

Review the available shutter products and request guidance where the opening or panel movement is unusual.
