01 Blocks light through the fabric
Blockout roller blinds stop light passing through the cloth itself, which is the main reason people choose this fabric type for bedrooms and media rooms.
02 Nine fabric ranges
Shade, Serene, Serene II, Ultra, Array, Allure, Elegance, Lakeside and Opulence give a range of textures and tones, from matte and textured weaves to smoother finishes.
03 Light can still edge in
A standard roller blind still leaves small gaps at the fabric edges. If a darker result matters more than usual, pair blockout fabric with the full blockout cassette.
Best for maximum control Full Blockout Cassette
Add a full four-sided or three-sided enclosure around the blockout blind to close the headbox, side channels and base rail into one system.

Best all-round control Double Roller Blinds
Pair a sunscreen or light filter layer with blockout fabric at the same window, so you can adjust glare through the day and close down for the night.

01 Recess or face fit
Recess fit sits neatly inside the opening. Face fit covers more of the opening, which can help reduce the light gaps at the edges.
02 Chain, cordless or motorised
Choose SunBoss chain drive, ZeroGravity® cordless operation, or Silent Glide motorisation—the same three control systems available across the roller blind range.
03 Hardware and base rail
Coordinate bracket colours in white, grey, ivory, latte or black, then choose a deluxe oval or flat base rail to finish the bottom edge.
04 Simple care, lasting finish
Dust with a soft cloth and wipe with a damp sponge. Avoid abrasive products and solvent cleaners, and don't roll the fabric while damp.

Common questions
Blockout Roller Blinds: your questions answered.
Do blockout roller blinds block out all the light?+
Blockout describes the fabric: it blocks light passing through the cloth itself. Light can still show around the edges of a standard roller blind, since the mechanism needs a small gap at each side. For stronger edge control, pair blockout fabric with the full blockout cassette, which closes the headbox and side channels.
Which fabric ranges are available for blockout roller blinds?+
Nine ranges are available: Shade, Serene, Serene II, Ultra, Array, Allure, Elegance, Lakeside and Opulence. Each has its own set of colours and a slightly different texture, so it’s worth comparing a physical sample against your walls, flooring and furniture before you order.
Can I choose cordless or motorised control for a blockout blind?+
Yes. Blockout fabric works with the same three control systems as the rest of the roller blind range: SunBoss chain drive, ZeroGravity® cordless operation, or Silent Glide motorisation with battery, hardwired or CBUS options.
What’s the difference between blockout and a full blockout cassette?+
Blockout is the fabric itself; the cassette is a separate enclosure. A full four-sided or three-sided cassette adds a headbox, side channels and a bottom channel around the blind to close the gaps a standard mount leaves at the edges. Order the cassette and the roller blind together so they’re matched to your window.
Can I order a sample before I choose a blockout colour?+
Yes. Free fabric samples let you check colour, texture and how the fabric behaves in your own light before you order, which matters most with a fabric that’s chosen for how it feels in a darkened room.
Is a blockout roller blind hard to install myself?+
Most installations use a small number of brackets. Follow the supplied guide, match your fixings to the wall or window surface, and fit any supplied chain safety device exactly as instructed before testing the full travel of the blind.
