My Direct Blinds / Installation

Motorised roller fitting installation guide

Fit and check the supplied motor hardware, then follow the programming manual for the exact motor. Use only that model-specific programming sequence.

01   Fit the supplied motor hardware

A licensed electrician must connect a hardwired motor to mains power. For battery-motor bracket adapters, use only the two small screws supplied with that motor. Longer or substitute screws can damage it; contact My Direct for replacements if needed. The current two-screw adapter differs from the part in the older assembly videos.

02   Battery motors: charge before setup

Charge a battery motor fully before pairing or setting travel limits. Motors ship below 20% charge. Insufficient charge can prevent correct operation or cause limit settings to be lost.

Use the USB battery manual for the matching current model. The earlier 1.8 Nm and 1.0 Nm videos apply only to those earlier motors. The current two-screw bracket adapter differs from the one in the older assembly videos.

03   240 V RF electronic-limit motor

Have a licensed electrician make the mains connection. Select the matching RF electronic-limit manual and use its programming and limit-save procedure. Use the AC RF video only for the model it demonstrates.

04   C-Bus mechanical motors

Parallel and non-parallel C-Bus motors have different wiring permissions. Match the exact model and follow its manual and the electrician instructions.

05   Check limits before hub setup

Incorrect limits can pull the base rail behind the brackets and damage the blind. The motor stopping at its rated torque is an additional protection, not a replacement for correctly seated brackets and saved limits.

Set and save both travel limits using the exact motor manual. Pair the Smart RF Hub only after the motor travel limits work correctly. Do not apply a setting-hole or button sequence from a different motor.

06   Finish and check

Check that the blind is correctly seated, travels in the intended direction and stops at both saved limits. Keep the motor manual with the blind for future settings or servicing.
