Full-blockout cassette installation installation guide
Fit the supplied 80 mm cassette using its face-fit or recess-fit demonstration, then fit and check the side channels and bottom channel.
CHILD SAFETY - STRANGULATION RISK
Loose blind chains can strangle children. Fit every supplied chain safety device before use. A loose cord must not make a loop 220 mm or longer anywhere below 1600 mm from the floor. This cord-safety rule also applies to the control chain. Keep cots, beds and climbable furniture away from the chain.
01 Identify your cassette and mounting method
Use the matching face-fit or recess-fit demonstration for your supplied 80 mm full-blockout cassette. Do not interchange fascia and cassette mechanisms.
Use the main roller fitting guide alongside the demonstration. A four-sided cassette needs its bottom channel and corner blocks fitted correctly; a headbox with side channels only has fewer channel junctions.

02 Secure every control chain
Loose blind chains can strangle children. Fit every supplied chain safety device before using the blind. Keep cots, beds and climbable furniture away from the chain, and retain all warning labels and tags.
A loose cord must not make a loop 220 mm or longer anywhere below 1600 mm from the floor. For these chain-controlled rollers, this cord-safety rule applies to the control chain.
Fit a chain tension device as far vertically from the control as possible, with the chain tensioned and the device fully closed. Mark its fixing hole on the architrave or wall. Use screws and anchors suited to the surface so the device cannot pull free.
If any part of the chain tension device is below 1600 mm, it must remain firmly fixed under 70 N of force in any direction for 10 seconds, with the chain tensioned to prevent a loop 220 mm or longer. Use a suitable tested fixing; get qualified help if its capacity is uncertain. Follow the supplied device instructions.
Installers must attach a label showing their name and contact details. Check the chain safety fittings regularly and keep every control chain secured.
Follow the supplied chain safety-device instructions.
03 Face-fit cassette demonstration
Follow the face-fit video for the supplied 80 mm full-blockout cassette. Face fitting is recommended for the easiest cassette installation.
04 Recess-fit cassette demonstration
The recess video omits the bottom-channel demonstration. Recess systems have a 2 mm deduction; an approximately 2 mm or larger overall width/height gap may need an internal timber quad build-out behind the channels and beneath them. An out-of-square opening can increase this gap.
05 Engage every channel and corner block
For cassettes, fit side channels square and properly engaged in the top headbox. On a four-sided cassette, fit the corner plastic blocks so the base rail enters the bottom channel correctly.
Do not simply mount side channels flush to the window sides if this pulls them out of the headbox or away from the fabric edge. The bottom channel may need lifting a few millimetres on a timber build-out so all channels engage correctly and light gaps close. A headbox with side channels only is easier to fit than a four-sided system. Face fitting is recommended for the easiest cassette installation.
06 Check before use
Check that the side channels remain square and engaged with the headbox and fabric edges. On a four-sided system, check that the base rail enters the bottom channel correctly. Recheck every supplied chain safety device before operation.
